1. Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, account identifier, optional display name, authentication and security settings, and onboarding progress. Our authentication provider handles passwords and any multifactor authentication setup.
- Pilot requests and support: the name, email, station or market, team size, message, and other information you send us.
- Forecast work: forecasts, station selections, valid times, confidence, models consulted or trusted, manual adjustments, pattern tags, notes, save times, and verification results. We also record forecast-save events and team administration activity.
- Team information: organizations, membership, roles, station assignments, invitation email addresses, and shared forecasts or shift notes.
- Technical information: our hosting, authentication, and security providers may process IP addresses, browser or device details, request times, and error or security logs to operate the service.
A selected weather station describes the forecast location. The workstation does not request your device's precise geolocation. Avoid putting sensitive personal information about yourself or others in forecast notes or support messages.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure accounts, display guidance, save decisions, verify forecasts, calculate personal and team performance, support shift handoffs, answer requests, diagnose problems, and improve the service. Forecast reasoning and model choices form part of the decision history used in these features.
Pilot-request information is used to respond to your request and arrange the pilot. Account messages include confirmations, password resets, invitations, and important service notices.
We do not currently send your forecast notes or decisions to external generative-AI services. If we introduce a materially different use, including new model-training uses of identifiable decision histories, we will explain it before that use begins and obtain permission where required.
5. Retention and security
We retain account information and forecast histories to provide ongoing access, verification, and audit records. Forecast and shared-note histories do not currently expire automatically. We also retain information as needed to address support requests, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.
Forecast records preserve the original decision rather than silently replacing it. You can save a revised decision; requests to correct or remove personal information are handled separately. Removing team access or clearing browser storage does not delete server records.
We use access controls and other technical measures intended to protect information, but no service can guarantee complete security. Backup copies may remain until normal backup rotation removes them, and information may be retained where legally necessary.
6. Your choices and requests
You can manage available profile and security settings in your account, choose whether to share a forecast with a team, and use the workstation's available export tools. To request access, a copy, correction, deletion, or account closure, email hello@wxlens.net from your account address when possible.
We may verify your identity and ask enough information to locate the relevant records. We will respond in accordance with applicable law and explain any limits, including obligations relating to shared team records or legal retention. Where local law provides additional rights, such as objection, restriction, portability, or a complaint to a regulator, those rights remain available. This policy does not waive them.
7. Processing locations and outside services
WxLens is based in the United States. Our providers and infrastructure may process information in the United States and other countries, including Germany, whose privacy laws may differ from those where you live. We will apply any safeguards required by applicable law.
Links to weather websites and other external services are governed by their own policies. Opening an external link sends your browser to that service; we do not control what it collects.
8. Children
WxLens is intended for professional users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice of material changes when required. New uses of previously collected information remain subject to applicable notice and permission requirements.
Questions or requests: hello@wxlens.net. Our Terms of Service describe use of the workstation.
